Because we are dedicated to the production of a quality, all grass fed meat, our animal numbers are limited.  We have only those numbers that can be well maintained on farm produced grasses. 

Therefore, we run one bull with 30 cows and maintain 80 ewes and 5 rams.  We use rrotational grazing methods to maintain steady animal growth, soil health and parasite reduction. 

Predator problems include two primary species: the bald eagle that will cripple and blind a calf or take a lamb; and the coyote that will take any sheep or lamb.  Our control methods are passive:

1) our soon-to-deliver cows are brought up to the hill next to our house to give birth – the eagles don’t like people and so our cows and calves are safe.
